Tam MacDonald

Mentor - Entrepreneur

Corporate communicator, editor and publisher, entrepreneur, idealist, and mentor, Tam has three decades of business development experience in the hospitality, financial services, healthcare, and building technology sectors. Having been born in the USA and educated in Canada, and then having lived most of his working life in London, he is less concerned with allegiances to specific countries or cultures and more intrigued with the wonderful totality of Planet Earth and all who sail on her. Similarly, given his academic background in philosophy and his current passion for Artificial Intelligence, he tempers his amazement at the achievements of the human brain with an awareness of its shortcomings and the need for intelligence of any sort – human or artificial, animal or machine – to define itself by its results and benefits. Among the various ventures that Tam is involved with currently, he has particular hopes for a Smart Building technology services business in Germany and an interactive online museum celebrating London’s Fleet Street as the cradle of the English language. Tam has been a mentor and project judge on the London Business School Entrepreneurs Summer School for 18 years.
